significance

Today is a day of significance. It is Easter. I heart Easter.
I love spring, love the colors. love the weather, love the 'newness' of things.
I love that we get to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior. A gift he has given to all man kind and I personally am eternally grateful for His lasting sacrifice.

This weekend also happened to be General Conference. (http://www.lds.org/) General Conference weekends are especially fun. I love it because we get to listen to council from the Prophet and the 12 Apostles and other general authorities. I love that we get to find answers to questions and insight on topics we've pondered. I love that we get to be uplifted and edified. I love that it's a weekend filled with JOY.

And to make it even more memorable, we just got to feel our first earthquake as a family.
We were sitting in Curtis' and my room watching 'Emma, My Story' on BYU. I thought one of the kids was kicking the bed and almost asked them to stop when Curtis' and my eyes caught each other. We both knew something wasn't right. We both looked out the window and the blinds on the window were shaking too. By no means was it furious or any sort like that... but very strange. My first idea was that if we felt it here and that really was an earthquake, something big happened somewhere! So we took all the kids in the backyard and after a few minutes we went back in. Curtis and I both searched and saw there had just been a 6.9 earthquake in Baja, CA. We felt it! Wild. Noteworthy. Significant.
